Volunteer Conservation - THAILAND
What We Provide
|
As well as the full organisation of each placement, our prices also include the following:
Accommodation
Our conservation volunteers all live together in shared bungalows at a small, relaxed resort just off the beach close to Ao Nang. The bungalows sleep up to four volunteers and have en suite bathrooms attached. The rooms are clean and light, and there is electricity and running water. There is a communal area and restaurant on site where volunteers have their meals and can relax.
Food
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is provided. The food is typically Thai, including lots of rice and noodles. On days when you are out diving all day or working at the mangrove site for example, a packed lunch will usually be taken.
Safety and Back-up
With more than 500 trained staff throughout the world; we believe our in-country support to be unparalleled. In every destination we have an office run by an experienced Overseas Director trained in the UK, as well as several members of staff who can be contacted 24 hours a day and are responsible for the general well-being of the volunteers. They can also act as a middleman for any problems with placements or accommodation and are a point of contact with the UK office.
Insurance
All volunteers are automatically covered by our comprehensive medical and travel insurance no matter where they are from or where they are going. This insurance includes repatriation for certain cases. If a volunteer falls ill, our overseas staff will be on hand to assist with hospital arrangements and insurance liaison, and will, of course, make sure that the patient is comfortable. Insurance can be extended on request to cover any further travel a volunteer may wish to do.
Airport pick-up
All volunteers are picked up at Krabi airport by a member of our staff and transported to the accommodation in Ao Nang. At the end of each placement, (provided you’re heading straight home), transport back to the airport is also included and arranged for you.
